Satu Kettunen

Hi! I'm Satu Kettunen, an illustrator, picture book author and colour lover. I'm originally from Joensuu, but have already been living and working in Helsinki for many years. At the heart of my illustration style are hand-painted watercolor marks and surfaces, which I often combine with pencil marks and pieces of paper collage. My work has a somewhat gritty and warm handmade feel, although the actual illustrations are done on the computer. I like to do a variety of commissions that allow me to learn about many different subjects and see the world from different perspectives. My favorite subjects are plants, nature and people, as well as imaginary plant worlds and characters.

I am open to new commissions and don’t hesitate to contact me even if your schedule is tight. I'm represented by Napa Agency, so you can contact them or me directly.

I have strong expertise in editorial illustration and good experience in event visual identities, brand illustrations, pattern design and website visuals. I am a Rudolf Koivu-awarded children's book illustrator and author as well.
