Galleria Kuvitus’ Exhibition Programme 2026

In 2026, Galleria Kuvitus will present exhibitions by the following illustrators: Eveliina Muotkavaara, Iiva Vilvas, Hanna-Katri Eskelinen, Janne Iivonen, Anne Vasko & Toshyuki Fukuda, Nina Andelin, Tero Juuti, Jonna Uhrman. In addition to the Helsinki metropolitan area, there will be illustrators from Oulu, Stockholm, London and Tokyo. The illustration techniques will alternate between new and traditional ones and different cultures will be on display, both geographically and in relation to identity.
In early spring 2026, the techniques of the exhibitions presenting book illustration range from handwritten illustrations to charcoal drawings. In March, media works and zines will be on display. In late spring, the gallery will present commercial illustrations and posters made for the international market. In the autumn, the gallery will host a joint picture book project by illustrators from Finland and Japan, as well as an exhibition on queer themes. Pixel and After Effects animations will illuminate the end of the year.
The exhibition selections were made from the applications received in an open call by the design agency Dog Design AD and partner Ilona Ilottu, producer and curator Veera Jalava, AD, artist and illustrator Fanni Lyytikäinen, and illustrator Sami Viljanto. The applications were evaluated both individually and in relation to each other. A big thank you to everyone who took out time from their schedules to attend our open call this year.
