Venla Vaattovaara
Hello! My name is Venla Vaattovaara (she/her) and I'm an illustrator and influencer based in Helsinki. I'm best known for my feminist project Muijavaara on Instagram. Through the portrait illustrations I like to present significant women and marginalized individuals, while also addressing important social issues alongside my artwork. I have studied Advertising Design at Turku Arts Academy and participated in an exchange program at WDKA in the Netherlands. Currently, I'm studying textile design at Metropolia Helsinki. I am passionate about equality, cinnamon buns, and ceramics.
As an advertising professional, I excel at concepts and enjoy the background work and creating ideas that contribute to effective illustration. Through the Muijavaara project I have gained expertise in portraiture and can create diverse illustrations of people. It's important for me to create diverse illustrations and in doing so promote values that are meaningful to me.
