We’re hiring: Gallery Assistants to work weekends

Galleria Kuvitus, a gallery focused on illustration art and its current phenomena, is located in Hämeentie 28 in Helsinki at Kallio district. The gallery presents a total of nine curated illustration exhibitions annually. Galleria Kuvitus is maintained by the Finnish Illustration Association. The association promotes the status of Finnish illustration and supports illustrators in their profession.
We are now looking for 1-3 on-call Gallery Assistants for permanent positions. The assistant/assistants work on weekends, Saturday and/or Sunday from 12-4pm, following Galleria Kuvitus’ opening hours. The position involves altogether about 320 hours per year.
Previous experience in the field of illustration and/or gallery work & customer service is desirable. The work includes:
- Exhibition guarding and monitoring visitor numbers
- Customer service
- Selling artworks
- Exhibition communication on social media (e.g. Instagram Stories and Reels)
- Updating exhibition information on websites and event calendars
- Other tasks during working hours to be agreed separately depending on the person’s skills, e.g. layout design, communication, PR tasks, event production etc.
We require good knowledge of Finnish or English, and welcome applications from candidates with as diverse a range of backgrounds as possible.
