Hello! I am Elina Rajala, an illustrator and graphic designer based in Helsinki, Finland. I do a wide range of illustrations for different contexts, but I have been most busy as an illustrator with magazine illustrations. My strengths are crisp line work and portraits.
I try to give humanity to my characters.

I am specialized in portraits and caricatures.

“Rajala took action quickly and picked up the essentials from our lengthy discussions. She produced nuanced and high quality illustrations for an important article series and, in my opinion, captured something essential about the topic. Rajala has high standards for her work. She refined the illustrations down to the last detail and delivered them on time in the agreed formats. Communication was straightforward and easy, the exchange of ideas effortless and refreshing. Thanks to Elina for the collaboration!"

"Elina Rajala has been illustrating our column on media research for nine years. In the beginning, the illustration was a caricature of the interviewee. Elina was a true professional: the illustrations were true to the subject without going over the top. Since then, Elina has come up with many clever ways to illustrate media phenomena – despite the fact that the subjects have more or less been abstract digital phenomena or screen-based editorial work. Despite the unusual circumstances over the years, the images have been delivered on time."
