Jenni Salminen

I'm Jenni Salminen, a 38-year-old illustrator from Helsinki. My work often starts with a pencil drawing and ends with digital colouring and image processing. My pictures include realism, but usually also unreal things and, if the situation allows​, playfulness.

My clients have been e.g. Suomen Luonto, Pirkka, Sähköyhtiö Helen and Nuorten K​uoroliitto​. ​In addition to them, I've done several projects for different companies and individuals (e.g. Sähköyhtiö Helen, musician Antti Pouta, Studio​ssa vieraana ​-podcast, composer Kaisa Nuolioja).

​In addition to illustrating, I also make music myself. I get inspired with my eyes as well as my ears.

In addition to Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, I use Procreate for my illustrations. I've also made several pencil portraits of people of different ages. Drawing with a more traditional pencil technique brings a nice balance alongside​ working on a computer/pad.
