Jenny Katarina Wiik
Hi, hei, hejsan! I'm Jenny Katarina Wiik and I've worked with illustration since my teens, but full time since 2015 with my company name: Jenny Wiik Illustration. In my dark past I was teaching and writing a PhD thesis in Art history, but switched gears after 2013 and started working full time with illustration, graphic design and writing (in Swedish mainly).
I work in traditional media like drawing, water colour and acrylic or oil painting, often combined with digital elements and photography. I also often work exclusively with digital techniques, like vector art. I have experience in working with books, games, videos and most recently as part of research and development projects within the health and welfare sector. In January 2023 I graduated with a Master's degree in Service Design. I'm often praised for my team working skills, and I can work in both Finnish, Swedish and English.
I'm particularly skilled at drawing, especially human figures and emotions. For example, I did illustrations for a project on social and emotional skills in early childhood education. Because of my background in humanities I have good knowledge of research, especially art history and visual culture. I use Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign in my work.

"The illustrator of the series is Jenny Wiik, and she's from Turku. She's extremely good and has done history related illustration before. She has an amazing ability to catch emotions in an image".
