Anna Emilia Laitinen
Hello! My name is Anna Emilia Laitinen. I paint with watercolours stories about the northern weather, nature and those living and growing in it. In my work, I fall in love again and again imagining landscapes that start from a tiny leaf, a petal or a fluffy fur. I finalise my paintings on the computer into printable image files. I have been working full-time as an illustrator around the world since 2010 under my business name "Anna Emilia".
By the way, I got my name "Anna Emilia" from my great-grandmother, who was born on a tiny Finnish island in the Baltic Sea. I think that my yearning for adventure and all my painted stories come from there.
I value versatility, smallness and respect for nature in my work. I have created various text designs with brushes and markers. Painting patterns and details is my strength. I get excited and make things possible – yet in all my dreaming, I'm practical and realistic.
