Anssi Vaalio

Hi! I'm Anssi Vaalio, illustrator, cartoonist, graphic designer and librarian. For the past twenty years I have created illustrations for a variety of purposes; from marketing and communication illustrations to editorial illustrations. In recent years, mostly for children's and young adult's books.

My illustrations are cheerful and often a little quirky in their humor. There are a lot of cheeky characters in them, and character design is often the starting point for my illustrations.

I try to be one of the good guys, so projects that bring a positive vibrancy to the world are especially inspiring.
