Cara Knuutinen

Hello! I am Cara Knuutinen, an illustrator and author based in Helsinki. I create children’s books and non-fiction. The world of children's literature—its stories, enchantment, and imagination—captivates me above all else. Creating a children's book feels like embarking on a great adventure.

Having collaborated with numerous authors, I place strong value on listening closely to the vision and preferences of the author or client, brainstorming ideas together, and contributing my own creative suggestions. I work fluently in both Finnish, Swedish and English.

I love creating children’s books. My strength lies in drawing animal characters, whether real or fictional. I am fascinated by the ways emotions, movement, and events can be expressed in children's books. In my work, I mainly use watercolors, colored pencils, and Procreate.
