Fanni Lyytikäinen

I’m a Helsinki-based illustrator, artist, and visual storyteller (MA in Arts, Aalto University) working across cultural and commercial projects. I create atmospheric illustrations, characters, and adaptable visual elements for brands, campaigns, events, and publications, often inspired by animals, nature, food, and culture.

My background in fashion, textiles, and styling informs my interest in storytelling, materiality, texture, color, and composition. I combine analog and digital techniques such as Japanese ink, watercolor, pencils, markers, and Procreate through an intuitive, collage-like approach. Inspired by paper as a material, Japanese ukiyo-e, mythology, cinema, and styled environments, I create playful visual worlds that balance warmth, atmosphere, and a contemporary sensibility.

I’m available for freelance projects of varying scope. Feel free to get in touch.

My core expertise is creating atmospheric visual worlds for brands and publications. I make scenes, characters, and visual elements (animals, nature, food, fashion) using ink, wax crayons, and Procreate in a ukiyo-e–inspired style. I work with storytelling, color, and composition, supporting brand visuals, photography, and text.
