Hello everyone! I'm Janne Toriseva, an illustrator, cartoonist and animator from Helsinki, Finland, working in the field since 2000. People turn to me when they want clear and informative, yet lively illustrations to convey their message.
In addition to my simple, informative illustrations and animations, I have created picturesque nature illustrations and animations for the Irreplaceables project together with the non-fiction writer Juha Kauppinen. These have been published in the book Korvaamattomat – Kertomuksia maailman avainlajeista (Irreplaceables – Stories of the World's Keystone Species) (Siltala 2023) and in the exhibition tour Korvaamattomat – Näkymiä maailman avainlajeihin (Irreplaceables – Views on the World's Keystone Species), which started at the Finnish Natural History Museum.
Since the beginning of my career I have worked for both the national and international markets. My graphic novel Valas (The Whale) was selected as the best Finnish comic of 2019.
I specialize in visualizing information through illustration, cartooning, and animation. I also have extensive experience designing and implementing large and multidisciplinary visual projects, both independently and in collaboration with clients.
