Johanna Uusitalo

Hello everyone! I am Johanna Uusitalo, an illustrator and visual designer from Helsinki. My special interests include animation, gamification and surface design.

The picture books I have illustrated focus on topics such as emotional skills, domestic violence prevention and mental health. I have illustrated marketing materials and websites as well as sign language and picture exchange communication products.

I first sketch the illustration on paper by hand. Depending on the client's wishes and the nature of the work, I may continue with vector or pixel graphics software, or complete the illustration using traditional techniques.

Animation, character design and surface design. The seamless pattern of a surface design is made ready for printing using vector or pixel graphics software (Adobe CC).

In terms of themes, emotional skills and the expression of feelings.
