Mari Ahokoivu
Hi, I'm Mari (she/her), originally from North of Finland but now living and working in Copenhagen. I'm an illustrator and a comics artists, I have a degree in media studies and I've been studying comics in Finland, Sweden and in France. I work with digital and traditional media, depending on what fits best with the illustration. I work mainly with children's books but I've drawn comics to both kids and adults. I speak Finnish, English and Danish and can understand a bit of Swedish and French. I love everything cute and scary, from children's books to scary movies.
My specialisation is in storytelling with comics. I draw naturally in digital and traditional mediums and use photoshop program without problems.
I’ve gone through many book illustration projects, and through them I’ve become familiar with the process, from sketching to the finished product ready to print.
