Terhi Ekebom
Hey! I am an illustrator, visual artist and cartoonist from Helsinki. (She/her, MA) I work with versatile techniques, making illustrations and
public art, the most recent of which have been completed by e.g. the works of Alava's kindergarten in Kuopio and a 70-meter mural in Hervanta, Tampere. My latest illustrations are e.g. The crane illustrations made for Kone Cranes and the children's book Last of the Dragons.
Narrativeness is central to my works, and I think both the illustration and the public work are interesting narrative stages. In my work, I think about the recipient and the place where the picture or work is encountered. I get excited about all kinds of commissions and I like to find out about the background and content of the commissioned work.
I am distinguished in picture storytelling and choosing the suitable image content. I feel that this knowledge of mine helps to build pictures that give the viewer both information and messages on an emotional level. If necessary, I can involve different target groups. Working in groups also suits me well. I get excited easily, learn new things and study assignments carefully.
