Tiina Kälkäinen

Hi! I am Tiina Kälkäinen, an illustrator from Tampere, whose playful and graphic illustration style is known from postcards under the name Pilkkuraita. You can find postcards and more of my illustrations in my online shop Pilkkuraita-kauppa.

My studio / pop-up shop is located at Käpytie 6 (next to K-Market Lapinniemi) in Käpylä, Tampere and can be found on Instagram @kapytiekuusi. The selection includes my own paper products as well as a selection of responsible products from colleagues and other small businesses. A warm welcome!

Since 2010 I have been working as a freelancer, doing info- and statistical graphics, magazine illustrations, product label design, marketing materials... And many, many postcards! I've also worked as a news graphic designer for Helsingin Sanomat (2008–2009) and Aamulehti (2003–2007). I have a degree in Visual Communications from Tampere University of Applied Sciences. I received a grant from the Pirkanmaa Regional Fund (Finnish Cultural Foudation) in 2022.
