Saara Söderlund

Hi, I am Saara Söderlund (she/her), illustrator, graphic designer and friend of birds from Degerby. My illustrations can be found e.g. in children's and YA books, magazines, cards and other paper products. My illustrations are rich in detail, magical and atmospheric. I paint my illustrations mainly digitally and sometimes with gouache, often combining both techniques. Appreciating the nature around us is an important theme in my work and my illustrations often include lots of plants and animals.

As an illustrator, I am versatile and my work is suitable for a wide range of projects and audiences. I listen to the client's wishes carefully and am meticulous about deadlines. I work in Finnish and English.

My strengths include narrative illustration and creating intense moods. I have a background in graphic design, and I consider the final product and technical requirements from the beginning of the project.
