Paula Garcia
Hi! I'm Paula Garcia, an illustrator and animator based in Helsinki. My work is inspired by nature, animals, travel, magic realism, and science fiction. I enjoy expressing myself in vibrant colours, analogue-style animation, and strong and playful textures.
My work has been used in various fields such as advertising, exhibitions, editorials, websites, film festivals, and social media.
I speak fluent English and intermediate Finnish. I'm always keen on hearing fun project pitches and finding creative solutions together!
I'm particularly good at making illustrations that can be turned into animations and published both in print and digitally. I'm also interested in doing work outside of traditional print and digital media and have been experimenting with projects using augmented reality.

Portals / Personal project
Portals is inspired by the novel How High We Go in the Dark by Sequoia Nagamatsu as well as The Enigma of Amigara Fault by Junji Ito. In the illustration, portals start appearing out of nowhere and some people are enthralled to get inside them and see what’s on the other side.
