Selja Raudas
Hi, I am Selja Raudas, an illustrator and visual artist from Helsinki. I enjoy planning and realizing high quality and artistic illustrations according to the client's wishes. I'm also good at visualizing, coming up with ideas and making the invisible become visible. My working languages are Finnish, Swedish and English. I am open to all kinds of visual design and collaboration. Alongside my artistic work, I do at least one major illustration project a year and some smaller ones, there is usually room in my calendar. Feel free to contact me and let's create something great together!
My illustration projects have mainly been high quality book illustrations. In addition to digital imaging, I am fluent in almost all techniques of hand-drawing and painting. The illustrated book as an art form and without any age restrictions is close to my heart. I also have many years of experience as an art teacher and workshop leader.
Clients: KUU publishing, Aviador publishing, Enostone, Etana Editions

UUSI Book cover / Enostone
The poems by writer Katri Tapola and black-and-white illustrations by visual artist Selja Raudas play with women’s identities and break them, creating new options and freedom. Olav and Hämäränmaa is a story about a land that was once occupied by twilight watchers and where the sun never rose again. Since the story is true, it is also about the battle between light and dark. It was time for Olav to show Hämäränmaa what was hidden inside him – it was time to grow to his full extent. The right adventure was waiting and it required courage, perseverance and the support of friends.
