Hi! I'm Terhi Adler, an illustrator, graphic designer and cartoonist from Helsinki.

Storytelling is in my blood and I like to get to the bottom of things. I'm fascinated by mysticism, nature, the human mind and its quirks. I love cats, humor and humanity!

In client projects I carefully consider the best realization for the work. I always research the subject and master even large scale projects. I am quite versatile and have done besides illustrations also pattern design, murals, animated illustrations and three dimensional work in various techniques. I also work on my own grant projects.

I graduated from Aalto University with a Master of Arts 2021 (Visual Narrative, Visual Communication Design) and a Bachelor of Arts 2018 (Graphic Design). My studies also included minors in PatternLab Texture Design and Comics Design, courses in Packaging Design as well as Animation at Tama Art University, Japan.

I speak Finnish and English.

Ask me to work with you on a book project! I've done a lot of publication design and book covers. I love print, but you can also hire me to create moving gif illustrations or patterns.

I mostly work digitally with a drawing board and Adobe software or Procreate – as a graphic designer, I've got computer skills covered. I also like to draw and paint on paper.

My clients include Parkko Publishing, Aalto University, Helsinki Urban Art, UN Global Pulse, Into Publishing, festivals such as Flow, Querelle and Helsinki Festival, magazines such as Tulva, Kuti, Aino, Zelda, Aalto University Magazine, Astra, Super and Amnesty, in pattern design Nanso and Lekolar.

"Working with Terhi was an absolute pleasure. She was incredibly intentional and thoughtful throughout the entire process, taking the time to truly understand our specific needs and vision. Her patience was invaluable as we navigated different ideas and iterations. What truly impressed us was her passion for design and art. Witnessing her weave these elements into the fabric of our brand identity was an inspiring experience. We wanted a brand that embodied our organization’s free and innovative spirit, and Terhi delivered through meticulous design research and a willingness to experiment. The final result perfectly captures our essence, and we couldn’t be happier."
